S.W.A.T Comes Out to Help Bob Jones Nature Center
Nearly 120 people came out to Bob Jones Nature Center on August 28th to weed flower beds around nature center, put down new mulch, trim trees (professional arborist), ground stumps (professional stump grinder), repair bird feeders, and clear brush and leaves from the nature trails.
Some of the volunteers included Mayor John Terrell’s family, City Council members Carolyn Morris, Brandon Bledsoe, Al Zito, Pamela Muller, Boy Scout troop, Tarrant County Master Gardeners, Cross Timbers Equestrians, Gateway Church, Grace Community Church, Southlake Baptist Church, and many residents from Southlake.
The Nature Center provided art projects and crafts & activities for the small children. When the project was complete, volunteers enjoyed lunch that was graciously donated by Chick-fil-A of Southlake.
"Our goal at Southlake Baptist Church was to create an organization like Southlake S.W.A.T. that capitalizes on the enormous resources of different constituencies in Southlake that typically don't work together--and create a sense of community and team work for the betterment of the city", said Clayton Reed, Southlake Baptist Preaching Pastor.
