Business of the Month - January 2009 - Johnny B's
Johnny B’s began serving Southlake its award winning Burgers in 2004. John and Sandy Finlayson take great pride in providing their customers the freshest, highest quality, never frozen ingredients for every item on the menu, from the signature sweet sourdough bun, premium Texas beef grilled to perfection with lettuce, tomato and onion, handcut fries and real old-fashioned soft cream shakes and malts. As home of the Dragonburger, Johnny B’s serves this triple cheeseburger with jalapenos and chili.
Johnny B’s was named 2008 “Best of Citysearch” in the “Best Hamburger” category. “We always strive to provide the truly best burgers anywhere,” stated John Finlayson, owner of Johnny B’s. “It is an honor to be recognized by Citysearch editors and our fantastic customers of Southlake and the Fort Worth/Dallas area,” added Johnny B’s co-owner and Finlayson’s wife, Sandy.
Meet the Warner Family!
The Warner family has called Southlake home for almost 11 years. By some accounts, that makes them old timers. They were here to see Town Square open and Walmart close. They have seen the building of Dragon Stadium and the sale of wine arriving.

The Sound of Music Comes to Southlake Carroll Theatre
Half a century after it first appeared on Broadway, the hills around Southlake will soon be alive with THE SOUND OF MUSIC.
The beloved musical based on the true story of the Trapp Family Singers has been selected by Carroll Theatre Department for its annual musical. Junior Sabrina Romero will play Maria, a postulant nun sent to work as a governess to the seven children of Baron Georg von Trapp, played by junior PJ Sook. The unforgettable score includes some of the most memorable songs ever performed on the musical stage, including “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi” and the glorious title song “The Sound of Music.”
Mike Rosetti Talks Electrical Lighting
Happy Holidays from your (hopefully your favorite :->) home inspector! Some people think of Christmas trees, sugar plums and reindeer at this time of year. I think about outlets and wiring! When I see houses decorated with Christmas lights at this time of year, and when I put up my own, it brings to mind something I always check for when doing a home inspection, the availability, serviceability and suitability of outlets, both outdoor and indoor.
Love the One You're With
It's been said that the holidays are the time when most of us become nostalgic for a time long-past in our lives that never actually existed. It's so very easy to idealize those old days, especially when no one else can testify to the veracity of your own memories. Ahh, yes, the cider was sweeter, the fire warmer, and the people filled with more goodwill.
Much of the time, though, when we long for these old times or places; it's more of a Norman Rockwell sort for romance than it is a reflection of reality. Maybe it's really true that things used to be better, but the key phrase is "used to be," since all we have is today.
There's a song by Crosby, Still and Nash that captures the essence of making the best of today:
Don't be angry, don't be sad,
and don't sit cryin' over good times you've had.
There's a girl right next to you,
and she's just waitin' for something to do.
And there's a rose in the fisted glove
and the eagle flies with the dove,
and if you can't be with the one you love, honey
love the one you're with...
Best wishes for a new year, filled with many opportunities for love, laughter, health and happiness!
