The race is on as Altrusa DFW offers up plenty of praise and purpose in anticipation of its sixth annual Black Tie & Boots Gala, Run for the Roses! On Saturday, February 13th, 2010, more than 200 people from Northeast Tarrant County will grab their silks, tuxedos, boots and hats to “stirrup” fun at the gorgeous Hilton Hotel located in Southlake Town Square. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, this year’s gala promises to be an evening worthy of celebration, featuring State Representative Vicki Truitt as Honorary Chair!

Exciting plans are underway for an evening that you won’t want to miss! From mint juleps to premium cigars, our guests will enjoy cocktails, fine dining, dancing, door prizes, and a live auction!

Apex Arts League announces the The Prevailing Winds trio performance on Sunday, November 15 at 2:00pm in Southlake Town Hall. This unique-format recital and lecture features three of the top wind performers in North Texas who have come together to form The Prevailing Winds. The program will include works by Haydn, Beethoven, Puccini and Gershwin

The Prevailing Winds is a new wind ensemble in the Metroplex. Its members are committed to community outreach and education, hoping to share the joy of music with its audiences. Currently, the trio of Cara Owens, Daryl Coad and Pam Adams is performing at nursing homes and care centers throughout Tarrant County in conjunction with the Texas Winds outreach program.

The concert is open to the public with a suggested arts donation of $10 for adults and $5 for seniors, students and Apex Members at the door. Seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The Southlake Senior Center is a proud co-sponsor of the event.

MMOW Announces Recipe for Success

Metroport Meals On Wheels (MMOW) is launching our “Recipe for Success” Campaign. Our “recipe” is to raise $250,000 to renovate our building which will yield the “success” of greater diversification of the funding base for MMOW’s meal programs. The key ingredients in our Recipe for Success are financial gifts from foundations and community friends.

CISD High School Hockey Game at NYTEX

The AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League will play its first game ever at Keller's home ice NYTEX Sports Complex in North Richland Hills (8851 Ice House Drive, North Richland Hills, TX 76180) on Thursday, November 12 as the Carroll Varsity Hockey team takes on rival Keller Varsity. Come cheer on your Carroll ISD Hockey Team to a VICTORY.

Puck drops at 8:30 p.m.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students.
