The Bob Jones Nature Center organization is sponsoring a Summer Star Party at the Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve Saturday, July 18 at the Bob Jones Nature Center, 355 E. Bob Jones Road, Southlake from 8:30pm to 11:00pm courtesy of the Fort Worth Astronomical Society (http://www.fortworthastro.com/FWAS/Welcome.html). Members of the Fort Worth Astronomical Society actively share their expertise, time, and telescopes with the public by conducting star parties and astronomy-related presentations for local schools, clubs, and other organizations throughout the year as part of their public outreach. No reservations are necessary. Summer viewing will provide a look at Saturn (for a short time after sunset), several nebulae, open clusters and globular clusters.

Attendees will be asked to turn car lights off once they are within the Preserve. Bring insect repellent and water bottles. It is recommended to wear long sleeves, long pants,and closed toed shoes.

The Bob Jones Nature Center organization is a 501c3 non-profit organization in partnership with the City of Southlake and is dedicated to the preservation of the Cross Timbers ecosystem and natural resources.
