The Carroll Senior High School Dragon Choir Booster Club is looking for Southlake residents to perform in the 26th Annual Variety Show on February 26 and 27.
The auditions are open to the community and will take place on January 27 and 28, from 4-7pm at Southlake’s Carroll Senior High School’s choir room. Students are asked to complete an audition form and submit their application through the choir website or by dropping it of with the choir director, Mr. Hutchinson. The deadline for submitting your application is January 21. Audition fees are $5 for individuals and $10 for groups of three or more. Acts will have a four-minute maximum time limit and all pre-recorded music must be on a CD. Audition results will be posted by February 5 on the choir website at www.dragonchoir.net.
“The Variety Show has been a community institution for a quarter-century,” said Cory Abbott, Varity Show chair. “The event grows every year and for 2010, we anticipate up to 150 performers and acts will audition.”
Last year’s Variety Show included entertainers of all ages from a variety of backgrounds. Highlights included performances by the Green Man Group, boy bands, harpists, and Miss Teen Texas. Also, the Southlake’s Swing Band will be there to help accompany many of the students who will perform solos live on stage.
Businesses are encouraged to help sponsor the event and purchase advertising in the Variety Show program book. More details can be found on the choir website. Proceeds from the Variety Show are used for end-of-year choir banquet, choir scholarships, music and equipment.
