Carroll Education Foundation called together local volunteers from Carroll schools on July 27, 2009 to create banners to advertise their upcoming annual fundraiser, Culinary Celebration 2009.

CEF Board Members, Sheila Halliman and Lynn Barnhart, have organized a group of Carroll students who met on Monday evening and create 11 banners – one for each of the 11 Carroll schools in Southlake. These banners will be hung in the schools in mid-August before the start of the school year.

“These banners go a long way to advertise our event to students and teachers who, in turn, we hope will pass this information to parents and community supporters. We hope to generate a lot of interest in the foundation and our upcoming event. It’s a great way for the students to get involved in a cause that is beneficial to them and their teachers” states Kacy Hankins, CEF Executive Director.

The upcoming fundraiser is the 13th annual event which will feature more than 30 Metroplex chefs, specialty wines and cocktails, live and silent auctions, a big board, a wine pull, and much more. The live auction will feature exciting items including an interesting item from Park Place Lexus, an original artwork from one of our own CISD students and much, much more.

This annual fundraiser for Carroll Education Foundation raises funds to support the children and teachers of Southlake Carroll Independent School District. Teachers receive grants from CEF for innovative ideas that will enhance the learning experience of their students. Students can also receive scholarships their senior year from CEF.

Culinary Celebration 2008 raised more than $285,000, all of which was used to provide numerous teacher grants and student scholarships benefiting the children of the Carroll Independent School District. For tickets, please see the website at www.southlakecef.org.
