One of the biggest headaches involved in trying to manage a business from home is simply getting started. There’s the matter of branding, building your website, setting up all of the e-commerce functions, and finding a team of qualified, professional workers.  Then, once you have all of this taken care of, you still have to recruit clients. The process can take a year or more, just to get going.I recently spoke with a friend of mine, who is an author and columnist for a number of publications, and who started the website, http://www.mywordtree.com/.  With his wife expecting a second baby soon, and having recently accepted an editor-level position with a southern Colorado paper, he and his partners are selling their interests in the business.  MyWordTree offers custom writing, editing and marketing services for small businesses, and their cornerstone service is Branching Out, a weekly automated drip campaign service that provides dynamic content directly to subscriber’s websites, and for email blasts.Features of this business include:
-A custom-built website, complete with back-end, automated subscription features and e-commerce functionality built-in
-A subscriber base with annual renewal potential (Currently approx. $3,500 annually).-Ongoing contracts with clients for design, copywriting and transcription.
-Proprietary contact lists of thousands of high-value leads
-Detailed profiles of dozens of pre-screened writers, editors and graphic designers willing to work for the business on contract
-Monthly site traffic of 500-plus hits, with minimal marketing outlay. This business, given an investment of time, has tremendous income potential. The foundation is already laid for the right person with an entrepreneurial spirit to take it to the next level. Christian also informed me that he is willing to train the right person to take over ownership, and will work with any prospective buyers to reach a win-win arrangement.  Visit the website at http://www.mywordtree.com/, and for more information, contact Christian at cpiatt@mywordtree.com

Cheers,

Dr. Laura
