S.W.A.T. (Southlake Working As a Team) organized an event to help Bob Jones Nature Center weed flower beds around nature center, put down new mulch, trim treesground stumps, repair bird feeders, and clear brush and leaves from the nature trails.

Southlake kicked off the First Annual Relay for Life Event on Friday, May 21, 2010 at Carroll High School. The event officially opened with Rachel's Challenge Rally at 5pm, where special guest speaker, Dana Scott, an older sister of Columbine High School shooting victim Rachel Scott spoke to the community.

Art In The Square is an annual fundraising event created by Southlake Women’s Club with proceeds designated for local charities. The Teen Advisory Board for Southlake Town Square and retailers paired together for "Fashion on the Square" at Frank Cornish Park on Sunday, May 1, 2010. TAB created a high energy fashion show showcasing Summer Fashions from: Metropark, Rock Revolt, Buckle, Gap, Anthropolgie, American Eagle, Banana, Gap, deLiA's, Lucky and Lilly.

Mayor John Terrell issued a proclamation while participating in IHOP and Shriners Hospital for Children’s National Pancake Celebration. Participating IHOP restaurants, including the Southlake location at Hwy 114 and Southlake Boulevard, were giving away free short stacks of pancakes from 7am until 10pm, while inviting customers to donate to Shriners Hospital for Children.

KMI is vested in Roatan Island, Honduras and in India providing much needed help to the abused and/or abandoned children in these desperate places. KMI also is making a difference in our own backyard too. The Clothe-a-Child program celebrated its 20th year of its grass roots efforts, and with a new KMI partnership they had their best year ever, even in one of history's worst economies. KMI raised enough funds to clothe over 1100 children in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area of North Texas. To learn more about this organization, visit www.kidsmatterinternational.org

Run the Rock is for students in EXCELL Running Club that have run 25 miles or more this school year. It is the grand finale for all Running Club members and the last running club for this year. This was the largest race ever for the school!

Altrusa DFW celebrated the 6th Annual Black Tie & Boots Gala - Run for the Roses at the Southlake Hilton. Just in time for Valentine's Day, this year's gala was an evening worthy of celebration, featuring State Representative Vicki Truitt as the Honorary Chair, Kristine Kahanek at emcee and band Identity Theft – whose music brought many to the dance floor!
