Altrusa DFW Announces its 6th Annual Black Tie and Boots Gala
The race is on as Altrusa DFW offers up plenty of praise and purpose in anticipation of its sixth annual Black Tie & Boots Gala - Run for the Roses! On Saturday, February 13th, 2010, more than 200 people will grab their silks, tuxedos, boots and hats to "stirrup" fun at the elegant Hilton Hotel in Southlake Town Square. Just in time for Valentine's Day, this year's gala promises to be an evening worthy of celebration, featuring State Representative Vicki Truitt as the Honorary Chair! In addition to donating her popular “Page for a Day Package” which will be auctioned live, she has also promised to sing a special song just for this event.
Exciting plans are underway for an evening that you won't want to miss! From mint juleps to premium cigars, our guests will enjoy cocktails, fine dining, dancing, door prizes, and a live auction! A special prize will be awarded for the “most interesting hat” worn to the gala.
The Black Tie and Boots Gala – Run for the Roses 2010 will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 13th. It will include dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions and our popular cigar bar. “Everything’s coming up Roses! We have some fabulous live auction items – from a Texas Rangers Suite donated by OdysseyOneSource that will accommodate 60 to 80 guests to a European Vacation donated by B&B La Maison des Capucines. ” says Victoria Lucius, Gala Chair. “Our silent auction items include two original oil paintings, Run for the Roses I and Run for the Roses II, created specifically to showcase our event, by Southlake Floral Artist Cynthia Medanich. And of course, we are excited that we are hosting our lovely event at the Hilton Hotel in Town Square.”
Major event sponsors include BNSF, Verizon, and Adolfson & Peterson Construction. Sponsors also include the Southlake Journal, Star-Telegram, Skipping Stone Studios, Society Life & Society Kids, and OurGreatCity.com. Major live and silent auction donors also include Bedford Chiropractic Center.
