Our Great City
Meet the Taylor Family!
Everyone who knows the Taylors – and this is a wide and diverse circle – knows that they are a hard-working, fun-loving, faith-driven family. Kim and Nathan and their three beautiful daughters, Kenna, 8, Abby, 6, and Ella, 3, are familiar faces throughout Southlake. In the seven years they’ve called Southlake home, they’ve become treasured friends, volunteers, and business associates all over town, devoting their time, talent, and treasure to every organization that touches their lives.
Kim and Nathan, both originally from Arkansas, met at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway and have been growing together ever since. Nathan originally planned to become a dentist, but fate intervened when a temporary stint at an insurance agency blossomed into a fulfilling career with Farmers Insurance. Nathan’s easy-going demeanor and obvious sincerity have earned him legions of loyal customers over the past 11 years at the Nathan Taylor Insurance Agency. April 1st of this year Nathan celebrated the 1st Anniversary of moving his business to Southlake located on Southlake Boulevard. This past year Nathan served as a founding member and graduate of the inaugural class of CLASS (Carroll Leadership Academy for Supporting Success). Last year Nathan cofounded the Dad’s Club at Carroll Elementary to help dad’s stay informed about their kids school and help raise money for school needs.
Kim is the President of the Southlake Chapter of BNI (Business Networking International). She has been Kenna’s Brownie Leader for the past 3 yrs, Co-Chair for the schools Spring Fundraiser and serves as Party Mom and Volunteer Coordinator for the girls classes. Kim’s 7 year career as a Mary Kay Consultant continues to grow through the many friends and customers she’s made as a volunteer at school and church, and in the neighborhood and larger community.
The Taylor girls are beloved members of their classes at Carroll Elementary School, for Kenna and Abby, and at St. Martins Academy for 3-year-old Ella.
Kenna is involved in Brownies, she has been dancing for 6 years and is starting her second year of competitive Cheer. When Kenna is not spending her weekends getting ready for the next Cheer Competition she loves playing with friends and shopping at the Town Square.
Abby keeps busy by being a Daisy, taking gymnastics and she is finishing her first year of being in a Dance Company. Abby is finishing kindergarten and so happy to be at the same school as her big sister. Play dates and playing Barbie’s are Abby’s favorite past times.
Ella finds herself in middle of most things she shouldn’t while trying to keep up with her big sisters with dance and gymnastics. Ella often changes her name to Belle (her favorite Disney princess) and loves to be read to by her big sisters. Recently, Ella found out that she will finally get to be a big sister in November when the newest Taylor arrives!
Dance, gymnastics, cheerleading , Brownies, and Sunday school keep the girls busy outside the school day, but there’s always time for frequent get togethers with close friends and extended family.
The Taylor’s can be spotted most Saturday Mornings at Benny’s Bagels, Date Night at Brio on the patio or the girls favorite The Ice Cream Place.
So, when you see the Taylor's out and about around Southlake be sure to say Hi to our "Family of the Month" and let them know you heard about them on OurGreatCity.com.
